Burnham Market Area Community Car Scheme
The surgery is extremely lucky to have an excellent community car scheme. Run by Mrs Daphne Potter, pictured above, the scheme is a group of volunteer drivers who will take patients on medically related journeys. It is run from Holme Village Hall.
The scheme works closely with the surgery and many of the journeys are between patients’ homes and the surgery. Patients are also taken to hospitals in Cambridge, Norwich, King’s Lynn, Cromer, Kelling and the Physiotherapy department in Wells Cottage Hospital. Drivers take people to Residential Care Homes and to Tapping House in Snettisham as well as to dentists, opticians and chiropodists.
The scheme is always looking for more drivers. If you can help please contact Daphne Potter, Co-ordinator on 01485 210342. You will receive 45p per mile and join a band of dedicated, highly valued volunteers.
